On January 3rd, 2005, Dylan and Cheri Harris embarked
on an expedition of a lifetime, riding bicycles from
the US/Mexico border in San Diego to the Southern most
tip of the South American continent - Tierra del
Fuego. This grueling ride of 11,007 miles took exactly
400 days to complete. The purpose of this adventure
was threefold. First they wanted to challenge
themselves physically, spiritually and culturally.
Second they shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with
those they met along the way. And finally they raised
money for three non-profit charities through the
"Penny-a-Mile" sponsorship program. They completed
their ride at 9pm on February 6th, 2006 all to the
glory of God.
Total miles - 11,007
Number of countries - 14
Months on the road - 14
Flat tires - 79
People who heard the gospel - 10,000+
People who prayed to know Jesus - 9
With man this is impossible, but with God all things
